Out of curiosity…why 30th Oct not 31st? 
Well, glad you asked. October 30th is Mischief, or Devil’s Night, and is a night know for frolic and general madness. Usually that’s when evil spirits come out to play, according to legend anyway. Also, the veil between realms is allegedly rather thin. It’s an appropriately creepy night for AFI. And also, I’m selfish- there are masked balls on Halloween to attend.
