Stuck on this song on a Sunday night (Swedish female duo playing minimalist pop):
I like her voice.
I work in retail too btw.
Iāve been listening to a lot of Diamanda Galas, Myrkur, Chelsa Wolfe, and Marilyn Manson lately. Itās the season for it.
More Swedish pop because they are doing pop right:
(the chorus creeped me out so much the first time I heard it. I love it)
More latin inspired pop for me. I canāt stop listening to this. I was humming it in public earlier. It also really makes me want to dance. Thankfully I havenāt done that in public
Colony 5, Iris, Hanzel Und Gretyl, Rotersand, Adoration Destroyed, Imperative Reaction, SystemSyn, Warclown, Ego Likeness, Gale Garette, Shirley Bassey, Don McLain, Marty Robbins, Nekromantix, Basura Del Diablo, Covenant, VNV Nation, Rise Against, Testament, Slayer, and Iāve been streaming Out over the Coffin by Ichabod and Communion after Dark on you tube.
I had the idea to listen to the entire discography of Jawbreaker, since theyāre such an important influence on 90s rock, AFI included. Started on the early singles and heard Unfun, now Iām working on the singles leading up to Bivouac. Iāll put Unfun up here for you to listen to. Itās quite good.
24 Hour Revenge Therapy is such a good album. Bummed that I missed the Riot Fest reunion.
Getting a lot of play this week:
St. Vincent - Los Ageless Couple months late with this one since it was a single ahead of the album, but I didnāt get around to listening to it until recently. Really catchy, kinda poppy, kinda weird, kinda funky, kinda noisy. Cool lyrics. āSugarboyā off this album is really good too.
Nine Inch Nails - The Background World Got the Add Violence EP on vinyl this week and this one has been getting a ton of play. Chill out for four minutes, then go insane while your brain melts for the other seven. One of my favorite NIN songs in a long time.
ONE OF THE GREATEST SHOEGAZE ALBUMS IāVE EVER HEARD!
Took a 7 hour car drive to my grandparentsā house. While on the drive I listened to:

In Fervor: Onward Downward

At the Drive In: Relationship of Command [up to Quarantined, but you should hear it all.]

Also, I allowed myself a rare listen to Sing the Sorrow. But thatās beyond the scope of this post.
I am in serious mourning over HIM right now, so Iāve been listening to their discography and a lot of Joy Division. Iām also blasting a lot of Tsaichovsky, at the moment.
Disintegration is fantastic.
Letās see, on my current rotation (other than AFI and side projects):
Charly Bliss-Guppy
Green Day- American Idiot
Queens of the Stone Age: ā¦Like Clockwork, and also Villains
I think thatās it. Other things on occasion (some really old Paul Simon the other day, and a bit of Amanda Palmer here and there)
Charly Bliss is fun! I fell in love with them when they were opening for another band a year ago. Now all my friends are obsessed.
Iām all over Ashbury Heights right now.
Iām showing art at a Knoxville concert coming up so
Deconbrio
Lorelei Dreaming
And
Fable Cry. Are all also on my list.
Iāve been listening to the latest Bring Me The Horizon album and itās real good.
Iāve also been listening to a British metal prog band called Tesseract. Anybody know about them?
Yeah my husband is huge into metal. He has mentioned them before.
They are great! You should try and give them a listen. Especially to their albums Altered State and Polaris. The singers have great voices (they had a different signer for Altered State, and the former returned for Polaris)
Explosions in the Sky. Really good for chill out and when trying to shut out noise at work.
